Jim Morris strode to victory at the Moreton Morrell 20k this April, and is now looking to crack his first marathon and then to do the New York City Marathon this autumn. The Moreton race started on small tracks and country lanes before hitting the hills at 6k and 9k. At 10k (it was a 10k and 20k race) Jim was in 3rd place, eagerly watching the two in front to see if they were 10k-ers. A sigh of relief as they both stopped, leaving Jim to begin lap two in front with only the pace car to follow. He led the race for the entire 2nd lap, looking over his shoulder furtively for any fasties catching up behind. Fortunately for on-form Jim - who came 29th out of more than 3000 at the earlier Derby 10k - it was a clear run to the finish, and a massive 4 minutes ahead of 2nd place.
