Striders show the way to keep warm - freezing rain on the March 4 racers
The club's Jim Morris and Mark Popple ran like the clappers to clock top times at the the Gainsborough 10k. Cutting through icy rain, Jim was on fine form and claimed a new PB with 35:54 (22nd, 4th MV40) with Mark 28th in 37:20 and in the running for the race's Junior Cup. Meanwhile Stephen Parker ran the Milton Keynes half marathon, finishing in an impressive 1:29:38 despite conditions so cold he was unable to untie his laces at the end of the race. Finally, eight Striders got stuck into the Lincs Poacher half - where they were pelted by rain, hail and snow on a filthy-but-fun course. Paul Hannah was 11th in 1:43:41, Richard Rae 15th in 1:47:19, Amanda Hannah 3rd woman in 1:56:02, Dave Aust 31st in 1:56:50,and Suzanne Moon and Maria Sowerby were back in about 2:25 - but the timekeepers had gone home by then. Nicholas Smith and Celina Silver took on the more sensible 10k option, finishing together in 59:26 (Celina 3rd woman). Wet n wild photos in the Gallery.
